Dashboard
The Dashboard is the page of options for administering a WordPress website. It generally has a menu column on the left, a work area for the particular function chosen in the middle section and the right section generally has various options or attributes for that function.
The left menu section will usually show additional menu options when you hover over a particular function. For example, if you hover your cursor over Pages, you will see All Pages, Add New and Notify Users as the sub menu options.
The most important menu options for maintaining the website on an on-going basis will probably be Pages, TablePress, Users, WP-Filebase and Appearance. Appearance contains the Menus and Widget sub menu items.
The above screen shot shows the Dashboard view for adding new pages. Note that the center section provides a WYSIWYG editor for creating the content for the new page. More details on adding new pages can be found on YouTube.
